Re: Tomorrow is OUP’s Birthday
Howdy! A very happy birthday to you Parts! In honor of your birthday, I thought I would forward along a song appropriate to the occasion, composed by a far greater wordsmith than myself, arguably one of the best of all time. And in the spirit of “international collaboration“ I will first send a version that Joe the Viking may have to interpret for you. Joe, my apologies I could not find it in Norge, so hopefully you have some abilities in Swedish instead. Bonus points Parts if you can guess which one it is in Swedish!
For those of us who speak Texan and for whom English is a second language (me included), I’ve also included the original, but no peeking until you’ve heard the first version!

OK, "Word Wrangler" - - I clicked onto the first link and, being an old Musician, I immediately knew what song it was - - - so without even looking at the second link, I am announcing that it is "Old Dawgs and Children and Watermelon Wine" by the Late and Great Tom T. Hall. OK NOW I'LL CONTINUE WITH YOUR INSTRUCTIONS>

Re: Tomorrow is OUP’s Birthday
WOW, Compadre, that offering by Tom T. watered up my eyes - - - that was probably one of the last performances that he did. He never penned a Song that I didn't absolutely LOVE
Back in the early Seventies we were living in the Colorado Rockies up just below the Continental Divide and I was working two jobs, one of them being a 5 to 6 night Gig and the Hi Tor Lounge and when they put that song on the Jukebox, it absolutely took over all other songs. I'l bet they wore the Record out playing it so many times on that Wurlitzer.

Re: Tomorrow is OUP’s Birthday
My Oldest Son, David, and his Family had us meet them at Crust Pizza yesterday and he surprised me with this awesome Cigar Box Electric Guitar. He and his Step Grandson have been making them for quite a while now and he designed this for me and my old stiff fingers. It is in open "G" chord tuning with only 3 strings and sounds great and is easier for me to fret and play.

I started enjoying it today and I realized very quickly that the Key Positions on the neck is not the same as I was used to when playing Bass and Regular Guitar so it's a learning process for me but I'll get there.
