I don't believe it

I just found this on WWW.Snopes.com. Verified to be true!

Lee Greenwood walks out on a concert honoring America's heros!

From a "business" standpoint I guess that was justified.

From a PR standpoint, I say that he should had just gone ahead and performed. Handle the small details after the show. No one would had known there was a dispute, but now they do and he looks like the bad guy.

That $2,000 check is a drop in the bucket for him. He was already there. Just do it!

I agree with Chuck. It did more harm than good for his reputation :(

I'm also with Chuck.

Was there a problem? Yeah, and I can understand it from that point. But to back out in this way, at a concert like this, over sucha relatively small matter, will hurt a lot more in the long run. Especially since he's best known for "Proud To Be an American". Now it looks like his theme song will be "Pay Me My Money Down".

I agree with everyone else here. The bigger man would have performed for the folks and then let his mgmt. team handle the final payment.

But, it is this guys business...

I can see the next tour. Greenwood and the Dixie Chicks. I agree with what everyone here has said. Seems to me the losers were the fans and as far as PR goes th biggest loser will be Greenwood. It's gonna cost more than $2k to get his reputation back up.
