I think you're thinking of the Giant Redwood Cedars out West - - - haven't seen them but they are Magnificent

That's a beautiful flower, Tasso, here's a pic of the redbud tree at our old house in Nix, Texas. Circa 2005 Halfway between Lampassas and Colorado Bend.
