Fake Olive Oils

Postby CaptJack » Thu Dec 22, 2016 1:18 pm

In the last couple of months I have read a couple of articles about how Americans are getting screwed when we buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

After reading this last article > Fake Olive Oils

I noticed that the Kirkland Organic got rated as one of the good ones.
Kirkland is the house brand at the Costco stores.
A 2 litre bottle for $14 is a good price for any decent olive oil Image

I buy in such small quantities that I couldn't get mine from any of the 'big' stores. All I know is it's green and smells olive-y. ;)

I haven't bought those so called "European" olive oils in more than 10 years. I knew there was something wrong with them by the way they tasted :x . I like the Californian Olive Ranch. It's affordable and taste great. I've not seen any Texan oils at HEB. That's a shame because HEB seems to go Texan with a lot of their stuff.

Here's a place that I've visited. It has top notch oils as well as some of the best balsamic vinegar:
