I haven't heard much about them honestly. i think you would be paying as much for the name as the product. I would look for a smoker that suits your style of cooking. Stick burners, Weber Smokey Mountains, pellet cookers, Pitmakers, etc all have different capacities and usage techniques. Ask yourself what you are going to cook and how you like to cook. Do you like feeding a fire and maintaining it every few hours? Do you prefer to "set it and forget it"? so you can do other things? Are you cooking one brisket or ten?

What Scott said. Once you settle on type, then drill down to decide which one. I would ad Kamado to Scott's short list under the heading of "set it and forget it".

You are paying for the name on this one, good pit but a lot better pits for the money. My two cents.

Just my $0.02 but another thing to consider is the "Quanity" of what you would call your normal cooks. My needs are small and therefore so are my smokers so I get by nicely with an ECB and small Pit Boss Pellet Grill. The only time I need wood is limited and only for extra smoke taste in the form of chips or chunks.

Thanks for the insight helps a little. I'm wanting to start a small concession business and was just wondering if any one had heard of them. The manufacturer is in Connecticut and I live in Texas would be a bit of a drive.

You've got some of the best pit builders in the world right here in Texas. Just need to decide on the style you like and your budget. :thap: :texas:
20" x 40" Party Gator Pit
Custom Mobile Stick Burner
Summerset TRL 32" Built-In Grill
Weber Q2200
48" Custom Firepit
Bertello Pizza Oven

I can't always please everybody. I'm not bacon.

Gone2Much where in Tx are you? To Toby's point there is more than likely a good builder near you.

Like others have said, it depends on your needs and how much effort you are willing to make in keeping the smoker going. Ceramics and pellet poopers are the easiest to manage, and you can throw cabinets in there as well. Stick burners require the most attention, but some people swear they make the best Q. Stick burners also turn out the largest volume of meat. Of course your price point is going to matter as well. If you have $14K, you can get a J5 Jambo Pit, made right here in TX. I think OUP has two of them. ;)

If that is the style you are looking for Backwoods is built in Shreveport Louisiana, I know several people who compete KCBS with them. They have several dealers in Texas as well.

Guys, I would recommend the Pit Barrel Cooker. You don't need to assemble anything and you can even cook turkeys on this one. If you are a fan of meat hanging method, then you should definitely have this.
