It's Rhubarb time in my parts. Ok I know Rhubarb ain't very high on most folks taste buds but....
My 91 year old mom makes the best Rhubarb rolls on this planet.
Gave mom some Rhubarb last week. Our plant has been very good this year
Well anyways she calls me a couple days later a little upset. One ingredient for the glaze of the rolls is Redd hot cinnamon candy and shes been all over town looking for some and nobody carries Redd Hots any more.
Well Amazon came thru in short order
My moms may be 91 but shes still can bake ......

I've only had Rhubarb one time back when we were on vacation at Telluride, Colorado (no ski area then so it's been a while ) An older Lady that was a neighbor of the friends we were visiting made a Rhubarb Pie and it was "Larapin" - - - I can remember saying "it's a shame Y'all don't have Blue Bell Ice Cream up here" - - -
thanks for sharing, Wild Bill

Re: Amazon to the rescue
Rhubarb is very high on my list of favorite eats in the world.
Matter of fact I had a birthday recently and my wife surprised me with a rhubarb pie....
I have 5 brothers and after we all grew up our mom would make rhubarb pies for each of us and put them in the deep freeze. Then it was a game who would travel home and steal our brothers pies, then of course friendly retaliation....

Re: Amazon to the rescue
Lol, another thing we have in common bill, I grew up with cheap meats and home grown veges, my mum was a good gardener, as were the older folks back then. Rhubarb and custard was a treat when in season, I still love rhubarb today, but my wife doesn't. My friend grows it so I still make myself a bowl once or twice a year. Never had it in a pie either, but that may change.lol.
And you are lucky to still have your mum around, mines been gone 18 years.
