Re: Impulse Items
Steam here as well, I heat my dogs in pot with colander above it with slit buns opened a bit and a lid, buns take about 1 minute.
These are really good. Assemble with onions mustard and ketchup. A bit of cheese then the dog.
Yummo. I make these occasionally on a Sunday for the kids, they love assembling their own dogs.

No sea gulls out here, they don't stray to far from the beach.
OUP, you should take those hoagie rolls to Fiesta and trade them in on some fresh baked bollio rolls for those blue ribbons sausages.

Re: Impulse Items
Well, it's over and I survived - - - - No, not the house cleaning but the Hoagie Link Sammich. First time ever to steam bread but they came out pretty good - - - probably coulda pulled them at 30 seconds but after they sat for a few minutes the wetness feeling was gone. The links were some of the best tasting that I've had lately BUT I over cooked them especially for the Wiffy who likes her weenies, links, etc skillet browned real good and preferably split and browned - - - hers came out pretty tuff and hard to chew. I just scored mine, then nuked it and lightly browned it. Could have cut the nuke time in half on mine also. Live and Learn but good food for sure.
While I was doing this I got a "mental" of my Mom looking down from Heaven and saying "Leonard you gotta come see this - - - that boy is steaming his hot dog buns I taught him better than that "
Loaded with honey mustard, pepper jack, hot chow chow and sour kraut - - - yum yum yum
