My Neighbor and I were able to get out and run some supplies to a local shelter. Had to drive through some pretty high water and we couldn't have made it out at all without a lifted truck. This will be a problem for a long long time.

Ouch, Prayers and more Prayers, Friend

We have some neighbors across the street that is their weekend home but their permanent residence is in Sugarland somewhere. I was talking to the Lady yesterday and asked her if they had heard anything from anyone down at their home place and she said they had not. Then she said that their place backed up to the Brazos and that they didn't know if there would be anything to go home to after this. I can't imagine what that must feel like.

Drive past the Sugar Land airport. There were 4 coast guard helicopters, 4 Blackhawk, 2 (what appeared to be) civilian rescue choppers, and a huey on approach. Awfully concerning.

I feel for everyone. It is not flooding of a historic level, it is flooding of a Biblical nature. I remember in Galveston the house was 16' off the ground, good for floods but no cover and concealment from twisters. We would have been goners if a twister would have hit us. Take care, be safe!
