Ahoy Admiral Egghead of the Cajun Navy...

Postby Boots » Mon Aug 28, 2017 4:37 pm

Well if you are not an Admiral, you should be. Read with great interest this article about the Cajun Navy helping out all those folks in Houston – simply above and beyond the call! But I did notice one thing missing from the pictures, none of the boys have a suitable, highly visible Ensign fer their pirouxs, bateaux, and jeanboats.

I have taken steps to rectify that, based on the hurricane warning flag, which seemed only appropriate. You might mention this to your Louisiana brother over in Houma, would make it much easier for rescuees and other craft to see the boats.

Storm is still rolling around picking up moisture off the Gulf and sustaining weak energy but still dumping rain. Reports I have seen so it may not depart the Houston area until like Thursday.

we're about 30 minutes North of Houston and we're still getting some rain but only showers so far - - - we've had NE winds which is good but none of us are out of the woods just yet - - - Beaumont and our Cajun Friends are scheduled for some water for sure

Sent message with banner/flag through their Facebook page.

The Boudreauxs and Thibodauxs will like.

BTW - one Cajun Navy caravan had 126 boats with a police escort while geauxing through Beaumont. The boats were loaded with bunch of supplies.

It was a temporary stand down for the Cajun Cruisers. News reports were garbled, some had it has looters and thieves posing as refugees (dern pirates) and others implied it might be panicked refugees who were trying to overload the boats to get all their people out. People get funky when they get wet, exhausted and scared . M

I would imagine more than one Boudreaux Thibidoux Fontenow has got a street sweeper in his backpack. Got no use for looters, personally, that's what Marshall law is for, as in Marshall Chuck Norris.
