Worlds Largest Pit

Postby GRailsback » Sat Sep 02, 2017 5:41 pm

Well, the worlds largest pit hasn't been maintained properly and isn't functional right now. I got a call from David Klose at Klose BBQ pits about noon today. And they needed pits. So got mine ready and took it down to NRG. There are supposed to be 5 or 6 more Klose pits showing up later today and over night.

OUP,

Yes, these photos were taken behind NRG center down at the stadium grounds. We will be heading back down there in the morning to help cook. If they are fully staffed then we will leave them to it and go pick up the pit when they are done. I suspect that shelter will be open for at least a week or so.

Just got back from the stadium. Several more pits had come in yesterday afternoon and over night. Here are some more photos, it has turned into a fairly large operation now.

They are cooking hot dogs for lunch, then they have a 1000 pounds of ribs and a 1000 pounds of chicken to cook for dinner tonight. Lots of good stuff going on down there.
