Get you a gravity fed vertical smoker. No electricity to deal with and tastes like BBQ. Fill it with lump and go to bed. I've been stuck on easy temp control and sleep for awhile. I've had propane that wasn't insulated well , went to a pellet pooper (traeger) didn't taste quit right and after my2nd auger jam I went with a gravity fed stumps smoker and after getting used to it go to bed and know it'll be within 5 degrees when I open my eyes..... I PROMISE you can put out great BBQ in a 100 unit.....it's just more work......$$$ brings in thick steel, insulation, fire control and size. I tell people to get what THEY want and just explain "this feature brings this benefit"...how many features do you want? :) just have fun !!!!!!

So, since the last post we used the new Traeger many times and then it wouldn’t maintain a constant temperature. Took it back and got a replacement from Costco. As we are loading it up the Costco employee says that they have had many returns and that if this one goes bad to not get another one from Costco. Seems they had a bad lot or something.

So, that one went bad also. Auger issues w error codes etc so back it goes and screw Traeger and its decision to have it all made in China.

Goodbye Traeger and hello American-Made Yoder YS640 :deadhorse:
