Postby jimbob1116 » Mon Nov 06, 2017 10:23 am

I want to thaw some ribs put them on my smoker for about 15 mins just give them a light smoke. Is it same to refreeze them and finish cooking the at a later date?

I’m no expert but that does not sound like it’s safe to me.

I have smoked ribs until done and the vac sealed / froze and reheated in simmering water. That worked well for a weeknight dinner.

Why ??? 15 minutes won't impart much smoke flavor and certainly won't save time when you do go to finish them.

As BSooner said, just cook, vacuum seal, and freeze.
There is just the wife and I in our house, so we do that a lot.

Had a few Country/Trail Riding/Rodeo Buds with the Handle of JimBob - - - good name
I am assuming that the ribs you are thawing are raw uncooked pork ribs ?right?, if so then forget that idea and just thaw and cook when you're ready to have some Reebz to gnaw on  :salut:
