Earlier this week, I got news that a dear, longtime friend had passed unexpectedly. She was airlifted to Houston, but nothing could be done.
Ann had been my friend for decades. She had a wicked sense of humor, which I loved. She was a wonderful writer, and we co-wrote many stories. At one time she worked in the aircraft industry. Later, she traveled. Adventurous yet kind, spirited, wise, she was a fountain of information on just about everything. She used to tell me about the Chili Cook-offs she attended.
She came from Conroe, then Big Bend, then all over the place.
Still can't quite take it in. I adored her. I will miss her so.

Sounds like she will be missed. What kind of writing did she do?

Thanks, everyone. We wrote sci-fi/fantasy together, and she published some romance ebooks with another author friend of ours.
PM coming, OUP. Again, thanks. Much appreciated, everyone.

Likewise from afar, but never the less felt, you still have the books and memories, you can't beat that. Maybe a rose or flower that's named the same as hers for you to remember, my wife has a rose with the same name as her mum who passed around 20 years ago. I often think of her when getting my mail,I have to walk past it.
