What Home Looks Like...

Many of us are fortunate enough (and certainly worked long and hard enough) that we’ve found ourselves a place to call home. Whether it be a little corner of our own in the house, a vegetable garden, a seat by the lake, or a chair and a workbench in the garage, or an apartment balcony, or even the front stoop of a brownstone in the city, everyboydy is entitled to a quiet place to sit with a beer and contemplate life with our friends. I am fortunate enough to have two places: Any table with bones in the world famous Dixie Chicken Saloon, and the front porch here on the Firefly. I hope ya’ll have a place of yer own, and if not, just look around, there’s always someplace for you right around the corner.

Nice post Boots, I have been to that there Dixie Chicken, although many years ago. Late 80's actually. Back when the race track was still open.

Here are a copuple of photos of where I get to enjoy much of my downtime. And I have recently aqquired a place up on Canyon Lake that I will be spending much more time at in the future.

Many years ago when the Big 12 was in its infancy I went to College Station to see OU and A&M square off on Kyle Field. We wound up at the Dixie Chicken and from what I hear…thoroughly enjoyed myself :)

If that was the cliffhanger game where Brandon Stewart quarterbacked for us and Robert Ferguson ran wild until he got hurt, I was there. OU played well enough that day.
The Chicken is muck like Woodstock; many just know they were there, but the exact details are a bit fuzzy. Opt for the juicy cheeseburgers or what I call the Thursday nighter - a tray of sliced hard Slovacek summer sausage, properly accompanied by slabs of thick cut cheddar “rat cheese” and a sleeve of saltines. Yummy. Has cured many a walkin hangover.

And I would draw the attention of the membership here to the proper display of Old Glory at the Railsback abode, which permits flying the Flag at night only if wattage of a decent caliber is directed on the Stars and Stripes... well done.

Any flag would disappear at night in any part of my town, flags aren't really flown round here so it would become a trophy for someone's flat. Nice place boots, what's the dog? I used to breed dogs so I'm always looking at dogs. King Charles? Btw I'll get some pics of my joint later.

They steal flags? That’s a good way to get peppered with some buck shot over here. Not that I’m advocating that sort of thing :)

I'd sure like to pepper someone that steals anything, but our gun laws are pretty tight. Don't start me on the nra. I'll post pics of my outlook.

A view from my upstairs lounge looking out to the park behind my home. We have a gate that opens up,to the park. When out eldest grandy was here one day, she looked our at the park where some kids were playing, and said gang gang there's somebody in our park, lol.

Nice balcony Russ, and yes the pooch is half King Charles. Sometimes she likes a roll in the mud. The other pooch is 100% Aussie. All energy, all the time.

Bunky you look like a man in need of a snowblower.

And mark down as a member of the Buckshot Pepper Club. We don’t abide thieves around here.

Nice dog pics, we had a King Charles, story is I was in a place called hokitika around 30 years ago, the pub where I was staying had a King Charles dog called smudge, a smudge over her eye, the owners were moving on and wanted a good owner for her as they didn't have the time for here. Long story short, I drove home next day ( 3hours) and told my daughter, she pestered me to ring the pub and see if she could have her, they said yes and I turned around and drove back and picked her up then drove home again. Things we do for our 12 yo daughters huh? She lived a long good life with us.
