Garden Time

Postby Rambo » Sat Mar 24, 2018 9:35 pm

I used to do a big Garden but every year it gets smaller now. Got it ready and planted; 40 x 60 with 6 rows. Planted 12 tomatoes, 6 Big Boys and 6 Brandywine: 6 Burpless Cucumbers : 6 jalapeños: 6 yellow Crookneck Squash : 6 Cayenne's: 6 Bell Peppers: 1 row 1015 Onions

A far cry from years past but I'm getting older.

Looks fine to me. All we can manage is a container garden!

A Friend of mine lives in a Golf Addition and he uses " Grow Boxes". It's amazing what he produces on his Patio

I used to make 6' x 6' frames out of 6' cedar fence boards 2 high (12"), then lay them on the ground and fill them with good soil and mulch. It worked well for me and easy to maintain and put netting over if needed. One would be surprised how much you can grow from 2 or 3 of these. :dont:

I didn't meantioned the biggest obstacle...

ROCKS, ROCKS, ROCKS !!!
We don't grow grass up here in the Poconos, we grow ROCKS unfortunately. ..
Took me all day to dig 2 three foot deep holes for stair footings years ago, so it's pretty much the main reason I don't own a tiller and try a garden.
I'm contemplating making something for the back deck in a corner for a small ( deck ) garden space.

Nice garden. I believe you can keep it well.
Looking forward to more camping trip with my family. I need a new tonneau cover to secure my equipment and pit.
