Good Cause

Postby GRailsback » Sun Apr 29, 2018 11:04 pm

My step nephew was killed in the line of duty back in 2009 in Chambers County Texas. Over there in Willies part of town. So my sister in law started a foundation in his name and honor. We do a couple of fund raisers a year, but only one big one, which is a golf tournament. So she deecided she would like to try and do a cook off as another larger fundraiser for the foundation. So this past weekend was it. Not only was it a cook off, but a classic car show, silent auction, and she sold BBQ plates to the crowd. Which is where I come in. I cooked most all of the meat for the BBQ plate sales, some of it was donated already cooked by the teams that were entered. So I did manage to take some photos, and I will post up a few. Not all that many teams showed up, 8 or 9, but is was the first year as well, and it wasn't sanctioned either, but quite a few cars and lots of nice auction items. And the blood drive mobile truck was on hand as well. And it was well supported by law enforcement also. So I will quit rambling and throw up a few photos.

The Foundation uses the funds raised to support law enforcement agencies with items that they cannot get included in some of the budgets, or that they just don't have the money to buy. This is by no means a solicitation. Just thought I would share my weekend cook.

All of this took place at the court house square in Liberty Tx.
