Wife and I are going to Gruene in July for Roger Creager’s birthday bash at Gruene Hall. We definitely booked an extra day for floatin’ down the river.

I’ve been drunk there many times in my younger days; alas now, sweet Tea and an occasional beer or glass of wine

I can't see what those are made of. We rode tubes on the lake in summer when we were kids..but they were actual, scorching-hot, black rubber.

Anytime we've ever tubed the Comal we took our own and YES they were big black truck tubes - - - that water cools them off quickly. :texas:

Odd, I coulda swore I posted this in the humor section, since that's what it was meant to be. Oh well...

BigThicketBBQ, on the surface, I'd agree. Let's face it though, you can always put on more clothes. There's only so much you can take off to cool down. Cold usually brings rain and snow, which are bad for the life of my classic car though.

My most vivid memory of Texas weather was going thru on the bus years ago, stopping at the Dallas station at zero dark thirty and it was still in the 90s and so humid you'd think you were in Southern Louisiana. You could literally see clouds of humidity around the tops of the buildings.

Still, I also remember spending time on the farm there when I was young and the heat wasn't so bad. Musta been spring or fall. :dont: I don't even remember exactly where it was. Supposed to be near the town of Germantown and I thought that was near Huston. TexasAlmanac.com says that Germantown as an actual town no longer exists but was in Hamilton county. Apparently half the big towns in Texas have a Germantown district though. How did I get on this tangent anyway?? :dont:

Can't do much worse than Cali there, as my other post shows. :banghead: Personally I think it's some insidious socialist vegan commie plot.
