World's Biggest Smoker

Postby rms827 » Mon Jul 30, 2018 3:40 pm

Well, I know how a brisket feels anymore. The whole northern half of the central valley is covered with smoke from fires:

That ain't rain clouds.

It was so bad yesterday afternoon coming back from the movies, that you couldn't even tell the exact position of the sun in the sky. We're probably 75 miles from the closest of the fires too. Air quality is so bad, we're largely stuck indoors.

Be carefull, Dude, and get out when you think you should - - - - speaking from experience Traffic during a Mass Exodus is not fun and it's also dangerous. We went thru some of this back in 2011 especially out in the Bastrop Area. Lost some beautiful Loblolly Pines also. :(

I watched on the news last night. Sad to hear loss of life as well, and the destruction.

We're fine here, other than the lousy air quality. The big fire is over a 3 hour drive north of us. The one near Yosemite is a couple hours south also. Closest one is about 75 miles. It's just unreal the amount of smoke. The valley traps smoke and pollution though.

There's folks closer to the fires that could sure use prayers though. The state is already at almost 40,000 evacuated

It's been a Week since RMS posted this about the Wildfires in his area and I'm wondering if they had to do a "quick split". Has anyone seen him around the Internet or whatever :?: :dont:
