Unwanted True Grit

Postby OldUsedParts » Tue Aug 14, 2018 5:24 pm

I made a Peanut Butter Pie this morning and of course I tasted it as I was mixing the Creamy Peanut Butter, Cream Chez Spread, Cool Whip and Powdered Sugar all together. Also tasted it right before putting into the Graham Cracker pie shell, covered with Cool Whip and in the Frig to chill. This evening I cut a piece and low and behold there was something in every bite that was Gritty as if it had regular sugar in it that wasn't dissolved. The only sugar in the mix is powdered sugar (confectioners) so does anyone have any iddie where the grit might be coming from ? :dont:

Are you completely sure that its not some of the graham ? Only other guess is for some reason the powdered sugar didn't stay broken down ??

Kind of weird I must say Emm...

Welps, I found the Culprit and it is the HEB Graham Cracker Crust. Don't know if it's a new Recipe they have changed over to or just lack of Quality Control because I have used this product before with total success and no signs of Grit. Since the price is not worth worrying about, I'm going over to Keebler next time and, if I end up having to make my own, I'll just bite the bullet and "git'er done" :salut:
