Duel Probe Thermometer ?

Postby GTR » Mon Sep 24, 2018 1:28 pm

I am currently using a Maverick ET-733. I'm going to need 2 set-ups for a cook in mid Oct. Found an Ivation duel unit for a good price. Question is are they the same unit just rebranded? From looking at them side by side I think they are the same but wanted to try and verify before purchasing.

Kinda like a Gmc & Chevy.
Just a different badge from what I've seen.
I've had the Ivation but ran it over like a moron and bought the et 733 and I saw/see no difference.

Thanks Wooden, was reasonably certain but just wanted to make sure. My old eyes sometimes like to play tricks on me.

Lol, ur eyes on spot on this time.
They worked exactly like each other so I'd go with the Ivation to save you a few bucks.
I only bought the Maverick because I was in a pinch and really had no choice but to pay the 65$ but even still it was worth it.

It would seem the BBQ spirits were looking over me today. Went back to e-bay to get the Ivation but took one more look around. Found a new in the box ET-733. I was able to pick-up for $30. Nice to get lucky sometimes.

I have to recommend thermoworks smoke! I also had the Maverick but after a year it was no longer reliable, temp reading at room temp were 10-15 degrees off, even tried new probes same results. Bought the smoke never looked back!

I am using this 1.6 years but I didn't face this kind of problem.

Try the "Fireboard".
It´s an american Product, which I bought at Kickstarter, but I think, you can buy it everywhere

I've had good results with a thermo pro dual temp probe from amazon, relatively inexpensive and come with a bluetooth module you can set wherever you are.
