Family Reunion Success

Postby OldUsedParts » Sun Oct 21, 2018 8:57 am

As I had mentioned earlier, we had a Byars Family Reunion Saturday in Lakeside, Texas and it was a tremendous success.
The Wiffy and I drove up Friday and grabbed a room in White Settlement and I didn't get lost but 3 times and had to stop and ask for directions.
Then on Saturday morning I thought I had my route all figgered out and I didn't have to stop and ask but 2 times.
However, we got there plenty early and enjoyed a day of Family, Fellowship, Food (WOW) and Fun. Some of the Kinfolk brought all the Lunch Fixins and others, including myself, brought some desserts. Also, as usual, we had way too much food and ate Way Too Much Food. Traffic on I-20 from the West side to I-45 was pretty bad and it took longer to get home than expected but everyone got home safe and sound and Full as a Tick. Sure hope we can do this again before too long. Our oldest member there was my late Father's ONLY living Sibling who had just turned 90. Even tho he didn't know who I was, it was such a Joy to see him and at least tell him how much he meant to us. Here's a group pic of ALL that attended - - - - the Beagle on the left was from the Ranch next door and not a Family Member. ;) :laughing7: :texas:

What a great (large) group of family in that photo. Glad y’all made it and were able to have fun. If I’d known there was BBQ I’d have BS’d my way through being a long lost cousin :)

PS - the family should adopt that beagle

All you'd had to have done was tell me you were coming and you would have been more than Welcome there. :salut:
The Beagle's name was Elder and he was a sweetie pie.

I did enjoy it but I'm dragging my tracks out today as I "slowly" get everything put away.
Sooner, in our family we consider all good Canines as 4th Cousins anyhow.
One time I stopped and asked for directions at a Pharmacy where an older lady who had lived there for many years was working and she didn't have a clue. However, there was a customer standing there who put me on the right trail "finally"
As far as snacks for the Beagle goes, I think the youngins were sneaking some BBQ treats outside to him all afternoon. Should change his name to Brisket Breath. :laughing7:
