Need help with thermometer

Postby Bwturner03 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 10:51 am

I'm curious to know what you all use for grill thermometers. I'm ok on meat thermometers, but is there something you use for the temp reading in the grill itself?

Howdy and Welcome to the Forum  :salut: :texas: As far as grill temps go my ECB and Pellet Pooper both have Temp Gauges but if I'm needing a more exact reading I use my Maverick ET-73 (thanks again Counselor) with a meat probe that don't lie.

Some off-brand wireless digital thermometer (that not even PB can remember the name of).

I use the Igrill mini with bluetooth. Great with the app so I can see the temperature from inside. You can set it to show the temperature in the grill or in the meat. Different settings in the app. There are models where you can connect multiple probes.

I also use an all-clad pen probe. Works fine for me.

You can purchase little oven thermometers that work quite well. I'll use a couple on either end of the pit to check side to side temps. Should be able to locate them at most discount stores (Walmart, etc.) for about 4 bucks a pop. When they get smoked up where you can't read them any more simply scrub the glass front with a micro fiber cloth or 'magic eraser' and it cleans right up. Best part is these sit right on the grate - where you really want to know the temperature. :thap:
