Toledo Bend Catfish

Postby Rambo » Sun Feb 17, 2019 7:15 pm

Went to Toledo Bend Friday, just got home; dang I'm old. Can't handle it like I used to. Baited 2 lines Friday afternoon and the lake was rough. We did get to run one of them Saturday but too rough to get out to the river line. We did catch 28 Crappie this morning.

Oh man. That looks like a great time. Nothing quite like East Texas kitties and crappies.

Thanks Ric; it would have been a lot better if the wind would have cooperated; TB is so big you just can’t tackle it when there’s 2/3 foot swells out there

Nice catch. Are they freshwater fish? We don't have that kind of fish here.

It is freshwater fish Mr Joe. And very good eating. Those that Rambo has there are quality stuff. And if you notice that they are hanging there with the tails cut off. When you get into that size of catfish is is best to hang them with the tails cut off and let them bleed out. Many good days ahead for Rambo with that haul, catfish and crappie.

Thank you. Yeah, looks great. I noticed the tails was cut of and thought they were used for bait or something.

Thanks for enlightening me.
