They can now build wood structures up to 18 floors. It was just 9 floors. And they are going to be doing that laminating in the luftkin area. It’s better if you have the trees Rambo, there is plenty more around there they don’t need yours.
World's tallest wood building is actually under construction just 1.5 hours drive north of me. It's 18 floors and 85.2 meters high.Image

Yes, they are going to be using a lot more of the East Texas Piney woods. That laminating began over here in Europe somewhere, i think maybe Germany. And that is what now allows them to go to 18 floors. I will see if i can find that article in the chronicle tomorrow when i get to work.

Take a look at the beams in the roof of the airport in Oslo on the way home. Large beams made of laminated wood.

Downsizing the garden this year, I have one spot with a couple cherry tomatoe plants and another with a few cucumbers. I’m going to try and make pickles this year. It’s not my first year growing cukes, Every year I have a problem with powdery mildew.
I am really trying to avoid it this year.
Anyone have a good solution to this problem?

What is that flowering Bush there in the second pic? That's beautiful! The wife would love those.

On that note, I think our frosty mornings are now done with. Haven't had one in nearing a week and the weather forecast doesn't call for anything lower than 37 over the next week. I've seen frosty mornings here at 40 though; in the name of science and climatology, I can NOT explain how.. :dont:
Knee permitting, I'm gonna get my plot cleared. Clear-ish. Lol!

Azaleas; check the Pecan trees, if they’re budding out you’re good to go. The signs are right here on April 6th to plant above ground plants

And they are cheap 15 usd a piece.

A lot of nice flowers folks. You are lucky to be able to plant flowers now. Here the ground is still frozen so not possible to dig yet. Must wait another month, at least, normally to after middle of may.

Here's a stack with two pallet frames and a lid.Image
