A very shocking day. I was in a flight to the world's biggest shoe fair in Germany when the planes struck the twin towers. The fair ended up being very sad and emotional. Normally a lot of American exhibitors and guests participate on that fair. None of them could come because all planes was grounded out of America. Lots of empty boots reminded us of the horror.
Everytime I go to New York I always go to ground zero. It's an emotional place and reminds us of the scales of the attacks.

Watched it all in horror and disbelief.
We live about 60 miles away. The next day, the smell of burning wire was all around, every flag was on display, and complete silence in the air. Our community lost a lot of people.

I happened to be watching TV when it started and I don't think that I have had my Emotions change places so rapidly before.
Never before or since have I been so Sad and Proud at the same time. GOD Bless America

Going to that Flight 93 Memorial is pretty high on my list.

A dear friend of mine's Wife is from Maryland and her best friend worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency in the Pentagon. Her Office took a direct hit that fateful day and she happened to be at Jury Duty. No doubt that she grieves deeply because of this as they remembered their fallen yesterday.

We have a memorial here in Christchurch, made up of twisted steel girders. If I have friends visit from other places, I normally include this visit as a reminder. Thoughts with you guys!
