Let's have a little fun
Given the references to music popping up regularly let's list our top 5 artist. Be it a solo or group act.
So in no real order I'll start.
1) Hank Williams
2) Stevie Ray Vaughan
3) Prince
4) Alison Krauss
5) Kid Rock ok not really in the realm of the first 4 but I just like him

3. 70's rock
Any of these with their respected artists keep me entertained while cooking.

I'm with you on these. Sinatra is great. Actually was on a concert he had in Oslo many years ago.Sailor Kenshin wrote:I'll be the odd one out.

Big band is always great. I used to play the saxophone in a local big band for several years.

"Black and White Night"
is one of the all time best.
Hey Joe, I'm an old Sax Man myself but my Chops have been gone quite a while.
Started on Clarinet, Switched to Baritone Sax and Alto Sax because of "Rock and Roll"

Re: Let's have a little fun
OK, I'll offer one up just for enjoyment.
This is Rachael Price, the lead Vocalist for "Lake Street Dive"
which is my favorite Group of today.
This Video is just her in the Studio laying down a track on a new song.
This was HER FIRST TAKE and THEY USED IT.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcUeoth ... rt_radio=1
I got to see them a couple of years ago and even had my Picture taken with her when
I was getting out of the Elevator and she was getting in.

Re: Let's have a little fun
Cool thread. I have a music themed thread in mind as well but will wait a bit until I have time to put it together. Picking 5 for me is tough because they tend to change. I’ll take a stab based on some that have stuck in my rotation for a while and maybe some all time favorites.
1. Turnpike Troubadours- hopefully they can get back together soon.
2. Waylon Jennings - regret never getting to see him live
3. Jason Boland and the Stragglers - every single tells a story.
4. Willie Nelson - if he’s into it, one of the best shows you’ll ever see. If he’s not, well you still get to say you saw Willie.
5. Hank Williams Jr aka Bocephus - man I’ve got some fuzzy memories of his shows back in the day. Back in my 20’s would’ve been 1 on the list.

Can’t argue with a single artist on this list. At some point in my life any of these would’ve been top 5. If you haven’t check out the Netflix Documentary on ZZ Top. It’s a good watch.
I’ve seen ZZ Top play with both Skynyrd and Willie in different shows. Great memories.
Merle I’ve seen more times than I can remember.
George Jones was up in years but he played Bass Hall and was fantastic.
