Texas Pecan Wings

Postby GRailsback » Wed May 20, 2020 8:11 pm

So I am on the road for work, down in South Louisiana testing some equipment for Shell. When I got down here I bought me an air fryer. mainly because nothing was open and I am living in a hotel. I grabbed a bottle of SPG, 1836, and Texas Pecan when I left. I am about out of SPG, so I went with the Pecan on some wings tonight. Must be the sugar in it but it gave them a nice little char on them. They werent burnt, in fact they were excellent. no I will drink a couple of cold beers and watch the race.

Those look really good. Thinking an air fryer might be in our future looks like lots of options to cook in one.

I would have bought a bigger one if I was at home, so I just picked one up to get me by while I am on the road. there were no restaurants open, and I am in a rural area. So it has been a blessing here in my room. I did a couple of tenderloin steaks in it the other night, have to work on my timing on beef, but i got the wings down. I also had a new grill installed at the house today. Same model, just newer, I don't really have any wiggle room as far as my cut out dimensions. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do for the chicken category.

If you are buying from Amazon, go for the one with the best ratings for price. Even if you buy elsewhere, the ratings and reviews are useful. We got ours years ago when we still belonged to a warehouse club. It's the one that had all those infomercials.

Hey Parts,

I looked up the ratings as well, but in my situation I just bought what was available to get me by while I am down here. Now after having said that, the one I have isn’t nearly big enough. I can fit 8-10 drummet wings in it. It doesn’t do enough on one run for 2 people. So I would recommend getting one much bigger that mine. I will send you a picture of the box mine came in when I get back to the hotel this evening. Also, I have only done wings, and steak in mine so far. But it has been a handy unit for me on the road. Because I could eat wings with blu cheese and drink cold beer every day of the week. Here is a photo of SPG wings.

Nice. We've also been thinking of an airfryer. Look forward to more pictures of food from this

We absolutely love them in the soggy Long Island summer, when you do NOT want to heat up your entire kitchen.
