Helt Texas
Meaning "Totally Texas".
That's what we are saying if things get out of control. Yesterday there was a lot of partying going on in parks and elsewhere in the cities. It developed into fighting and disturbances of peace and order.
Police said it was "Helt Texas".
Don't know what you've done to have disorder and chaos named after you?
This is a headline from a newspaper today.

It’s on your people. Norwegians created the term meaning “ crazy or wild “. The title yesterday was probably saying “ totally Texas “

Re: Helt Texas
Did some Googling and it appears to be a "local slang term" that has multi-definitions.
It appears that it isn't "always" meant in a negative sense.
THEY SHOULD CHANGE IT TO HELT PORTLAND
so it would have a REAL MEANING

I've always gotten a kick out of "Colloquial Slang" from different places in the World.
HEY JOE, when do Y'all think you'll be Storing the Boat for the Winter

Re: Helt Texas
With our Viking history I'm not sure the term "Helt Texas" is justified.
It's not only used about bad situations
It can also be used about something funny with more action than anticipated.
Parts: about the boat. I'm planning to take it up the 15th of September. Summer harbor closes on that date. After that they change to winter harbor we're they blow airbubbles in the water around the boat to avoid freezing of the water. Better to store it on land due to snow. From end of September we can expect freezing temperatures at night. August is still counted as a summer month so we're enjoying the last 3 weekends. Evenings are getting darker and darker so less time to go out after work.
Sitting at the boat now, hanging on the anchor, enjoying the day. Check out the guy just passing behind us.

Not having looked this up, I would have associated the term with doing something awesome without 'permission.' Like Bass Boat Rescues.

Re: Helt Texas
Today the season is officially over. Put the boat on land today. Will spend the weekend to secure the freshwater system and engine from freezing. Then cover the boat to protect it from rain and snow.OldUsedParts wrote:Rambo wrote:Careful

Had a great trip to the storage place in the great weather.
Season starts again sometime between the 15th of April and the 2nd of May next year. A long wait hopefully a beautiful winter with lots of snow before that.
A bit scary to see the boat dangling in the forklift.
