Parts of TEXAS are SHOWING THEIR ANNUAL BEAUTY

Postby OldUsedParts » Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:16 pm

This is my favorite time of the Year in Texas and I have great Memories of the "DOGWOOD TRAIL RIDE" that my Dad and a lot of us took every year.
It went from Livingston to Woodville and the Scenic Beauty along the way was AWESOME.

this one is in my backyard :wav:

:salut:

Our dogwoods don't bloom until May, but with this year's crazy weather, who knows. We already have crocus in bloom and robins on the lawn.

I have been wondering about that, the old saying last thunder in February last frost in April, plus the mesquites I have seen them wrong once, but they are usually correct, once the mesquites put on leaves it is safe to plant

You betcha - - - Not only do I miss living in the Hill Country but when we lived there we had 3 huge paper shelled Pecan Trees that gave us many pounds every year.
I gave my D.I.L.s Dad a 20 # bag one year and he never stopped thanking me for it :laughing7:
They were very very good and easy to shell.
We had a great front porch and we would sit out there to shell them.
I would crack and get them real started and Sherry would finish them and bag them. :wav:

Sometimes we would be lucky and get to watch a Beautiful Hill Country Sunset - - - - -

Talking around 43 here in the morning. Bluebonnets are looking good up around Brenham though.
