Hi Folks,
my Name is Bertl and I´m from Munich, Germany.
My English is not the best but for my food addiction it will be enough
I´m the Admin of a german BBQ Forum and i found your Forum when i was looking for some great BBQ Food. I´m also a great fan of the united states but i visited your country only twice until now. But for sure it not have been the last visits. The next time i want to come with my family for visit some BBQ Restaurants besides the normal ways.
My normal BBQ behavior is to cook nearly all outside, every day and no reason what the weather is like.
But i have a house with kitchen too
For that i own a Weber Summit, a Rösle Air F60 Bowl, a Weber Go anywhere, a Wok Burner, a fixed Grill station, some different Dutch Ovens, a Smoker and an O.F.B. and everything what i need for preparing some Burgers and Steakes
Here are some examples of my "work". I hope u will not kick me out for my poor food

Welcome to the forum Bertl.
You might be interested in the history of the BBQ that Texas is famous for. Texas BBQ originated from German immigrant butchers that settled here.
They practiced their trade in meat markets a century or more ago when their was no refrigeration so they sold fresh beef during the day and then made sausages and smoked larger less tender cuts of beef overnight to be sold the next day as meals or meat for workers to take for their lunches. Of course refrigeration evolved but the love of the smoked meats will live forever.

Great food photos. Big welcome!
Echoing what Papa Tom said. Some of our best bbq joints (in the beautiful Hill Country) run deep with German routes.
Glad you found us.
