That firebox doesn't look to be in THAT bad of shape TBH. If it's not eaten through, it should be an easy fixer-upper you've gotten for a very reasonable price.

It is pretty rusted inside, but for the time being im going to use it as is. I am going to make it a bit more asthetically pleasing, but not going to go overboard. I cleaned out the firebox and it seems to be sturdy enough. And good thing im workin on my third year here in texas :)

The desired temp at the thermo is a real good sign but only experience will really tell.
