Hello BBQ Fans

Postby RedFly » Mon May 08, 2017 2:27 pm

I just found this group and I'm interested in learning more about the BBQ Community in Texas. I'm from San Antonio, and I love to make and learn about BBQ and cooking wild game. I like trying new BBQ joints, but I especially love to hunt, fish, and be outside. Before my 4 year old son was born my main hobby was retriever training. Having kids kept me closer to home so my next main hobby became BBQ. I enjoy all parts of the process... butchering or picking out exceptional cuts of meat, selecting good clean burning firewood, learning to run the pit, making the rubs and especially experimenting with my own sauce recipes. I also enjoy learning and studying pit design and have drawn up my home pit as well as my company's trailer pit (designed for 100 people or less). I cook about 4-6 times a year for up to 100 people, and plenty of backyard weekend cooks as well of course. Maybe we'll meet across a smoke covered picnic table some day. Cheers.
