I got bit by the smoking bug last month when I got a Masterbuilt 30" propane smoker. My wife ask me if I was trying to wear it out in the 1st couple of months smoking so much. I told I would take it easy on the propane smoker so I went & got an Old Country over/under stick burner last week. After doing my 1st brisket in the new smoker my wife decided both the smoker & I could hang around.

Thanks for the welcomes. Sometimes it's more than just the meat. Occasionally the sweet tooth gets to hollering. Next on the smoking list (probably on Friday) is hickory smoked Bacon Bourbon Pecan pie. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Welcome! So how did the pie turn out? Love pics!
Btw I’ve seen that pit and often thought about buying that pit from Academy early on in my bbq addiction. Pls give your opinion on best and worst features or performance. I would love to know.

The pies turned out great. Too much work for 1 pie so we made several to share.
The O/U works good & even better now that I changed out the fire grate. The factory sheet metal one just doesn't get enough air flow IMO. I'm more than happy with this smoker.
