Has anyone eaten here?

They got a mighty fine review in Texas Monthly...

Not yet, they were #1 on the Texas Monthly Top BBQ in texas also. It is HIGH on my "to do" list. If anyone gets out there let us know!

there was a story on National Public Radio Friday.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=92677223&sc=emaf

I've been wanting to go out there, but figured i'd wait til the hype died down some.....after listening to this story, sounds like it might be a while.

I've been there. I thought it was good bbq. I don't think it was worth the 3 hour drive. But if I was anywhere near there on a Saturday morning I would definitely go back. By the way, if you don't plan on getting there early, I would suggest calling ahead.

Reading the posts in this forum, well color me green. Q around here is sparse, and those that have it... like was mentioned before to only say something if its good otherwise shut up. So here goes the positive:

Guess my silence speaks volumes. Maybe its a blessing. If I could find Q on par that I can make, I might not cook anymore. If I ever get to the Lone Star State, I'll be sure to check out the legends and the upstarts posted here 8)

I pulled out the shovel on this one. I went about 6 months ago and was not impressed at all. I was quite disappointed actually. I loaded up the lady friend for a fun day drive and awesome lunch. Neither of us were pleased with it...

Snows BBQ, Lexington TX

Postby cowboydon » Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:17 am

Howdy TBBQF friends, I took a trip to Snows BBQ Lexington Texas last Saturday, and wanted to share some pictures of the trip with yall. First of all as anyone who has ever been to Snows knows there are only 2 reasons to be in Lexington at 07:30 AM on a Saturday - either BBQ or you are selling or buying cows and it all happens on Main St.
I arrived at 07:30 Saturday and the line was still sorta short just me and a family from Denton on there way to Shliterbahn. So Miss Tootsie opened the joint up at 07:45 so they could get the 11 year old girl who was being a real sport for her BBQ loving Dad on the road to Shliterbahn, thats classic so we were setup and served before 08:00am. After getting my pound of Brisket, Round of Sausage and some Ribs I went back to get some pictures - Miss Tootsie called me over and showed me every pit and and opened up each one and let me get some shots of all the stuff they had cooking - The Q was good and the the crew at Snows will really make you feel like family if you stop by.
(I actually dont have photos of what I bought, we ate it for dinner Saturday night and if you know me I was on the CRB and didnt think of pictures, and we also mixed it up with some pork sausage for Meyers) I am getting spoiled with the Dancing Monkey Ranch and all the great Q so close.) Keep an eye out for the trip to Dripping Springs and Lockhart and also a run to Round Rock for the 2 pound doughnut. :happ:

Miss Tootsie explained that she hated the rib racks, but Clarence(a local fellow) had a big to do coming up, and ordered a lot of ribs, so she had to use the racks for space purposes
