Went to Dwight Harveys Off the Bone in Dallas last Monday, need to do better recon as they are closed on Mondays. Still had a nice drive through downtown Dallas(lol). Will be hitting the place soon as a co worker also claims the best Q ever.

Just visited the new Coopers tonight and I was a very dissapointed. In the front warming pit , I wanted to try some beef ribs. I was told they were out, no biggie. I told the pit guy I'll have a lb of pork ribs (spare only) and lb of brisket. He cut off 4 huge ribs off a rack, then cut a hunk off the backside of the brisket. I told him there was way too much fat and he said he could trim it out but I just didn't like the look of it. I usually like the front (flat) which usually is served as sliced briskets at usual bbq places. I just told the guy I'll have the ribs, they looked real good. They also had big chops, ribeyes, turkey, cabrito, sausage, sirloins, half chicken. My wife ordered a chopped beef sandwich and a blackberry cobbler at the side area. I also got some tater salad while my ribs where sliced ,wrapped , and weighed like a butcher shop ,which was cool.I looked at the sticker, 19.95 for 4 ribs. I thought ,darn these ribs have got to be good. Boy was I wrong, they were some of the worst ribs I have ever bought. Tough, cold, no flavor. The free beans were great as well as the tater salad. My wife said her chopped sandwich was good, she usually gets a sliced but didn't like the look of the brisket either. My wife tried a piece of my rib, I could not even tear it, she spit it out. I don't want to slam Cooper's and I will give it another try and I hope they work the kinks out. I heard several people commenting about the brisket ( fatty) and being a little pricey.
Being next to Billy Bobs, this place is geared toward tourists, They will probably love it.
How bout some more beans Mr.Taggert? I'd say you've had enough!

Coopers mixed feelings
1. Brisket diasappointed cut a little funny. Got 1 lb came in two chunks great taste just hard to slice in a hosp bed and get this NO SMOKE RING AT ALL dang did they cook it in the oven?
2. Sausage SPOT ON not too greasy, just enuff heat.
3. BEEF RIBS DING DING WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER.
GREAT TASTE 2.5 LBS WAS 4 LOL
4. Sauce SUCKS TOOO THIN FUNKY TASTE TOO. Who needs that stuff anyway.
5 Mac n Cheese great plenty cheesy and thick.
Pickles awesome

Scores
Brisket 5
Sausage 9
Beef Ribz 10
Mac n Cheese 8
Sauce 1 jus cos it was close to the right color
