Okay, are you leaving around 3-5am? You probably want to be in the line by no later than 9am. Rush hour traffic through Round Rock and into Austin might add an hour to your time. If you don't show up until 10am, you probably won't get served until 1pm, and they might run out of some items before you get it. I would have said to swing by John Mueller as well, but he is closed on Tuesday. I don't think LA BBQ is open on Tuesdays. That would leave Stiles Switch in Austin, and Louie Meuller in Taylor as the two other spots you could hit.

You just talked me out if going. May wait until I have time for a hotel and can walk over.

Or, plan a couple months ahead, and pre-order 5lbs of meat. It will cost $75-100, but it will save you blowing 3-5 hours in line. Split the cost with another person or three, and you have yourself a deal.

Saw an offer on their FB to order whole Briskets & pick up w no line late last week.
They were closed for a Private event so they made the conciliatory effort.

Got off an email & an Austin friend was able to pick up a 5.25#er with little effort.

I got there at 7 and was 5th in line. Watched a movie on the iPad, then talked to those around me for the remainder of the time. Believe it or not the 4 hours flew by. Got ribs, brisket, pulled pork and sausage. Rib was too fatty and over cooked, brisket was fantastic, but was expecting to be blow away because of the hype and wasn't. Sausage was horrible, but the best pulled pork I've ever had. The best thing I can say is the customer service is top notch. Aaron himself even sat down with me for a bit to talk BBQ and gave me a list of his favorite places in town to check out. Good experience overall.

That line is deceiving. From the stairs in the middle of the building to serve is a 1 hour wait once the doors are open. That line is about a 2.5 hr wait to be served if you are at the end. 8) 8) :chef: :chef:
