Brisket and ribs. Their Creamed corn is real nice

Take a pass on the sausage.

Lean brisket...that's what I always get. Nice folks, took me around for a tour of the pits one time when it was a slow day.

I've done brisket, sausage and pork ribs...all were good. I have heard that they have excellent beef ribs and will be trying those out in a few weeks. Strangely, I had a great chopped beef sandwich at Chisholm Trail so you might make a detour there as well...sadly the ribs were awful during my visit. Might as well stop b Kruez (prime rib) and Smitty's while you are there.

I maybe was there on a bad day but, I was expecting more. But in that town you cant afford to have bad days. It was good but not up to the hype. IMHO

If I were going back through I'd be sure and go to Black's and get a beef rib.

My favorite is Blacks (my bride's favorite is Smitty's)

The creamed corn is a mightyfine side at Blacks

If you eat at Blacks, should drop in Smitty's just to look around - it's a trip

I'll second what EH said if you've never been to Smitty's you have to go there so you can step back a hundred years in BBQ.

Well fellas - I had to go with your suggestions. We stopped at Black's yesterday around Noon and boy it was busy. The line was out the door and all across the front of the building. That's the sign of good food, right? :) It took us nearly an hour to get in the door, but the wait was well worth it!

Papa Tom - I appreciate the beef rib suggestion. I had to copy-cat your rib photo (I hope you don't mind) because it was just too big not to share! That was the largest rib I have ever tackled, hands down!

Even a little live entertainment to go along with my Fathers Day lunch

Egghead - I gave the creamed corn a whirl along with some black-eyed peas. The creamed corn was excellent (a little cold), but tasted fantastic. The black eyed peas tasted a little undercooked to me. I just so full already though that it didn't matter.

We drove by Smitty's on the way in and the line looked just like Blacks. We decided to just try that one next time we were in the area. Something to look forward to, right? :)
