I've heard good reviews here and on another forum. I plan on trying it Friday for lunch and will report back.

It's OK. Used to be better when first opened. Could use some more seasonings and smoke. Sausage is good, ribs & brisket are tough. Pulled pork is good. Chicken is OK but oversmoked at times. Baked taters are great with all the fixins. Got way too may side dishes to choose from IMHO. But most of the sides are good.

It's OK overall and is where we eat BBQ in Allen. But if coming to Allen for BBQ, there ain't nuthin better in Allen! Other choices in Allen are Dickeys, Rudys and Bar-B-Cutie. Ain't much to choose from here.

I need to open up there somewhere! :)

Big Dave or CowboyDon - Isn't there a place over in Lucas on Country Club somewhere? Red shack on the corner, out in the country? Beating myself over the head, can't remember the name....

Agree with Big Dave. Had some really good Q there when it first opened. Still better than the others in Allen (including Rudy's). Hutchin's in McKinney just to the north has been great the last couple of years (heard they reworked/retuned the pits after their fire two years ago)

I just had a brisket sandwich and loved it. Perfect Smoke, good bark and even though I hit lean it was really moist.

The place reminds of Rays on Friday Night Lights Ill be back for sure.

That place is at Lakeway grocery at Country Club & Parker Rd. Used to be good Q until it closed down was remodeled and opened again a couple years ago. I would not spend my money there now. By the way it is for sale for 50K plus $18 bucks a square foot rent. Only half the equip goes with the restaurant unless ya fork up more than 50K!

Looked into buyin it but the price it way too high. Great location but absolutely no parkin to speak of. Folks who own the convenience store also own the bbq place.

Like I said BigRays is the best Q in Allen. Hutchins in Mckinny is much better.

I recently tried this place when I was in Allen for a playoff football game. I got the 3 meat plate with brisket, sausage, and turkey. I wanted ribs, but you could not get them on the combo plate. Brisket had nice texture, but had no bark and not even a hint of smoke to it. Turkey was dry and had zero flavor. Sausage and sides were decent, but nothing to write home about. I ended up getting some banana pudding to get the bad taste out of my mouth and the pudding was actually pretty good. They people running the joint were really friendly, but I probably will not be back.
