Best Steakhouse in Austin?
T-sip friend of mine wants a recommendation, so he came to me as the local guru of all things related to smoked bovine, but Austin is not my town, so I am reaching out to all of the Brotherhood of Bevo for recommendations.

Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

Hard to beat the Cowboy Ribeye at Ruth's Chris on 6th. I normally go there for a good steak.

There is a Bob's in Austin now, I'd take Bob's over Ruth Chris any day of the week.

I'm with ya on that but it wouldn't take much arm twisting to get me to go to either place.
Thank You to all the fine folks here for all the tips and advice so I can now smoke a chunk of meat and folks actually eat it.

III Forks is pretty darn good too.
If he's a UT fan send him to Vince Young's Steak House.

I've always been fond of Austin Land and Cattle on Lamar. It helps that it is a local joint, and not a chain.

I dont know if its the best, but Eddie V's is pretty good too with a good seafood selection too. The Tomahawk is HUGE.

A second vote for Austin Land and Cattle, but Ruth's Chris and Bob's aren't too shabby either.

ALC is good business!
There is a Perry's in Austin now.
The Pecan-Smoked Prime Ribeye at Hudson's on the Bend is pretty fierce if one is out West.
The Roaring Fork deserves at least a mention.
