Drove by & saw the Pit sitting outside & advertising proclaiming Brisket, Ribs, Sausage etc. at this convenience store.

A google search calls it "Smokies" & I read some interesting mixed reviews.

I work up the road and saw that too. I'll try and check it out next week.

So I gave this place a try. The smoker out front is for show, they even have a smoke machine connected to it. It is a convenient store with a BBQ stand. No smoker in sight and it doesn't smell like smoke either, not really sure where it's cooked. I got brisket and ribs and when they asked me what sauce (spicy or mild) I went with spicy and I insisted it be out on the side. For sides I got baked beans and potato salad. Meat was ok nothing special and better than dickies, the baked beans were the best I've ever paid for. Not a bad place for lunch but not a BBQ destination by any means. My bill was $16 and not worth it. I'll come back for the beans and maybe try the brisket tacos which are only $3.Image
