It was actually really good. I was expecting it to be dry because instinctively when I saw the internal temp around 200 degrees, I associated it with steak being well over done at that temp, but after we cut it open, we realized it was still juicy because of the natural fat content.

Now I just need to learn how to use the acorn smoker/grill I just picked up.

That is Great to hear you say that.
It's the first real coal smoker we've bought.
We have been using a tabletop electric smoker and we were completely shocked on how good our first brisket point came out in it.( pic below )
Now that we have this, we can't even begin to imagine the outcome !






Lol, definitely charcoal.


I saw where you said "coal" as I am always learning, and knowing that "coal" is or was used for heat in your area, did you mean char coal or really coal? I have never seen any one cook on coal but it might just be a possibility, I always heard it burned hot...just curious
