I hear this was started by David Bouska and his son, but the son runs the place. Friends in Oklahoma say the food is quite good. What are apple pie baked beans?

All I know is it's a good sweet flavor with chopped up apples. Seriously tastes like somebody dropped their apple pie in their bbq beans. Good stuff!

 Glad you had a good time. David is a serious competitor on the BBQ circuit. I'm sure the BBQ is right up there.

It is well worth a detour to stop by. I was there shortly after they opened, and the food was great. Brisket and ribs were what you'd expect come from the Butcher BBQ name. Levi is doing a killer job. And the prices are very friendly. $16.00 a pound for brisket, try to find that in the Hill Country.

Hog Apple Pie Baked beans

ingredients
4 slices bacon, diced
2 cans (27 ounce size) baked beans
1/2 cup sweet-spicy bbq sauce
1 pound leftover smoked pork or beef, or crumbled cooked pork sausage
1 can (15 ounce size) apple pie filling
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons mustard (prepared)
1 teaspoon chipotle or cayenne powder (optional, to taste*)
1 teaspoon bbq rub

directions
Brown bacon, and saute onion and green pepper in bacon grease. Mix in remaining ingredients. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour, or simmer on stovetop in large pot for 30 minutes if you don't have time to do them in the oven.
cook's notes
This recipe began life as APPLE PIE BAKED BEANS from somewhere on the web, but I think I've made enough changes to it now to claim it as my own. This is my standard for baked beans anymore. Jack's Old South does something similar to this, but I understand that they use peach pie filling instead.

*This is a rather spicy recipe due to the chipotle/cayenne powder. Feel free to leave it out if you'll be feeding those who prefer a less spicy taste.

I believe I've seen that recipe as Keri's Blues Hog Beans also. Whatever you wish to call it, they are good.
