Lone Star Barbecue - Huntsville, Tx

Postby Swamp Donkeyz BBQ » Fri Sep 11, 2015 2:01 pm

Lone Star Barbecue, just off 11th street (behind CVS Pharmacy), has the best brisket and beans in town. It's a little red food trailer that's putting out some decent Q. The beans were stupid good! Nice and tender, but not overcooked, very well seasoned, with bits of smoky brisket mixed in. The sausage was good, but not really anything to rave about, just good pork sausage. The brisket was moist, cut with a fork tender, with a nice smoky flavor. Definitely a return trip is in order. They were out of ribs, or I would have hit that too.

If you're ever passing through Prison City, and want some good Q, they are worth checking out.

Thanks for the headsup, SD :salut: - - - we are about 40 minutes from there so that's a Road Trip in the making for sure. Is it best to go off I-45 North via Hwy 30 and then right on 11th :?:

That would be the best way. If you're coming from 45, take a right at the second light. You can see it from 11th street. They're only open from 11 to 3 right now. Kieth said he's probably fixing to start staying open until 6.

Thanks for the review. I love a good side of cowboy beans to go with brisket. Hopefully I will be down there to judge the KCBS event next year.

Look me up if you make it. I'm usually not hard to find.
