Witt Pit, Rosenberg, TX

Drive by the Witt Pit on highway 36 in Rosenberg quite a bit. Never stopped by. Worked from home today while the pickup was in the shop so I thought it would be a great lunch stop. Order by the pound, and they had brisket, spares, chicken, turkey, and sausage (regular and jalapeño). Ordered three slices of brisket, three bones, two slices of turkey and a link of jalapeño sausage.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything. It was all very well cooked. The brisket was tender and moist. The ribs were easily the best around. The turkey was better than thanksgiving and the sausage had the perfect amount of heat.

If I had to not pick, I'd only say that the membrane was still on the ribs (but I know it's impractical to remove them for restaurant volume) and a few (not all) bites of the brisket were over salted for me which I attribute to slightly uneven rub application.

All in all, I intend to return and recommend if you're in the area!

I underestimated the brisket slices. Got a box of reserves for tomorrow!
