The Shed BBQ

Postby Raider18 » Fri Feb 26, 2016 11:12 am

Always wanted to try this place as it is constantly on TV and Brad Orrison seems like a fun guy and kills it at Memphis in May each year. I emailed Brad that I was coming and asked for a tour and he agreed to do so personally. I showed up at noon and was greeted with a handshake and hug and shown around the place including the kitchen and smokehouse which is three J&R Rotisserie smokers. Brad bought my lunch which was a sampler of all the meats. I had brisket, baby backs, spares, pulled pork, chicken wings and sausage. Best smoked chicken I've ever had brisket was pulled and mushy same for the pork. The spare ribs tasted like the brisket which was odd and the baby backs were a little above average. The sausage was good but similar to what you get at the grocery store. Good news for me I love their sauce so that helped. As for sides they were the best I've had at a BBQ joint. The baked potato salad was fantastic the Mac salad was creamy and had a perfect consistency with a nice crunch from the peppers and onions and the Mac and cheese was the best I've ever had. While the meats disappointed I was overall happy with my meal. This joint is more about a good time than the food which is ok depending on your mood. The place really is entirely built from junk yard scraps. Next time I'm in the area I want to go back when a band is playing. I'll have a more detailed review later this week.

I liked the atmosphere they created there. Just like a bbq joint should be! I didn't care much for the actual bbq but I'd agree that the sides were on point! It's awesome that you got a personal tour!
