Holders in Dobbin Texas

Postby OldUsedParts » Tue Sep 12, 2017 3:29 pm

The Wiffy and I drove over to Dobbin, Texas to look at the Community Hall that I have rented for our upcoming Family Reunion on Oct. 28th. Of course it was dinner time when all this came down so we stopped at a typical Texas Roadhouse BBQ/Restaurant called "Holders". Wiffy got a Burger and I got a BBQ Sammich with Own-Yawn Rangs. GREAT Sammich was recommended by owner/chef/cook/bottle washer/all around cool dude. You might say that the taste was more about the sauce than the brisket but the meat was melt in your mouth tender and tasty as well. :salut:

My flash is broken on my camera so sue me.

Great looking bar too, was that cedar or cypress? That hot mess sandwich looks pretty good too

Bobby: "No."

Boots, I didn't ask but it sho looked like split cedar to me.
My oldest Son used a lot of it in and around his Home when building.

OUP that lookss like th eplace that was across the street from the old Moaks store on the corner of 105 and 1486? I have a very good friend that lives out there in Dobbin, and she is as passionate about horses as anyone I know.

Yes, a oaks has sold out and closed. I expect at some point you will see some sort of modern station and convienience eye sore there at some point. Is the community hall by the beer joint there by the tracks?

Community Hall is .7 mile south of 105 on the East side of 1486 right before the tracks - - - you can see the "Saloon" from the Hall. The quiet small country setting is perfect for what "WE" are all about and OF COURSE BBQ will be the meal of the day with several Family members contributing their "wares" for all to enjoy. We plan on having a "Pickin and Grinnin" at the end also.

thanks, Don, we enjoyed the good but, by no means is that a BBQ Joint. He cooks briskets on his pit outside but didn't seem to offer any other kinds of "Q". Wiffy's burger was great also.

we're really looking forward to the Reunion - - - It is DEFINITELY TIME TO DO IT and everyone seems up to the Challenge and Enjoyment :salut:
