Re: Your favorite NON - Texas BBQ Joint
I haven’t really had the chance to explore outside of the state BBQ wise. I’d love to hit the big regions and check it out. NC, Memphis, KC.
Pretty sure my taste buds are mostly geared towards Texas Q but I want the opportunity to try each regions specialty.

Gates BBQ in KC.
Been to a lot of them all around the country, prefer Texas but Gates is good.
Somehow I couldn't fall in love with Alabama, Georgia or Carolina Q not bad just not my favorite.
Had some really good pork Q in Cancun.

Hands down it would be Jim Neely's Interstate BBQ 670 Jefferson Ave, Memphis, TN
However, someone needs to tell them that pork n beans don't go with BBQ.

Re: Your favorite NON - Texas BBQ Joint
As far as chains go, I love Famous Dave's. It's the closest thing we can get to decent BBQ ribs out here in the PRC.
Now as far as unique restaurants go... If anybody is in Nashville in the future, check out Martin's BBQ down by the stadium. It's kind of the secret place the locals try to keep from the tourists. They do Memphis style dry rub ribs like most places in Tennessee. Another good spot I found in Nashville was a place called Bar Lines. It's in the building that houses the Country Music Hall of Fame, towards the back. We asked the security guard there where was the best local place and he turned us on to it. He said the Mexican place near the gift shop was only fair quality and overpriced, but Bar Lines was great.
Come to think of it, I have pics from both spots... I should post detailed reviews.

I think you've gotta blame Bush's Beans for promoting that idea, OUP, LOL. Saw it in alot of their commercials back in the day.
