Texas Monthly Top 50 - 2018

Postby allenayres » Mon Jul 23, 2018 11:33 pm

Have you guys seen the new list? So many places I want to try before I die (or, could be listed as the cause of death :laughing7: ).

The new list isn't online yet, but Snow's tops the list again, followed by Franklin. Last year's is here:

Gorgeous photography in the magazine, makes me hungry just trying to turn the page :pig:

I don’t think they are doing a new list this year.

Altho, I don't get out and about like I used to, I am blessed to say that I have darkened the door of several of these. However, I have never managed to chow down at Snow's or Franklin's and probably never will. :texas:

I've been to Franklin's a couple of times. I thought it was worth the wait - great flavor and Aaron cut my order for me :)

Sad that the top 50 aren't more widely dispersed - huge sections of Texas (including mine) without any. That Salt Lick didn't make the cut means these are pretty awesome :)

Ouch, that Pic explains why I'll never taste it - - - - too old and I don't do lines any more. :whiteflag:

That I understand... I stand in lines much less nowadays, preferring to go during an off time or just later. After 10 or so years it looks like Franklin's doesn't have an off time :)

I'm not going to stand in line over 5 minutes for the Pope. I'll eat Bodacious or my own

I've never done lines since school lining up. Even the best places here have quiet times so we find something we like, then the wife says copy that. Then there are lines at my house with my kids lining up,lol. When the kids were young we had a fave restaurant and I still make our faves from their menu, from 30 years ago.
