It's on newsstands now, it's why I started the subject :) :laughing7:

The next top 50 list is 2021

For 2018 they added a "10 up and coming/new to watch for" list and put out a new magazine, that's what threw me :drunk:

I have been to Franklins once, it was good, but not worth the wait for me, I guess old age it taking over, between that "life long interuption I have" a job, the family and home chores, I dont seem to have the engery to wait in line like I did in days gone by... :whiteflag: :whiteflag:

I had to be in Northwest Houston Saturday for a photo session, so I left a little early and on the way stopped in at Roegel's BBQ on Houston's West Side (Texas Monthly Top 50). It was 5pm, supposed to be closing at 8pm. The family in front of me was told all that was left was chicken and sausage. They left and I stepped up and the owner said he had 1 beef rib left too, one of the people behind the counter had planned to take it home that night.
I had wanted to try their brisket and pork ribs... but since my choice was narrowed for me I apologized to the girl numerous times and asked for the beef rib - he threw in some macaroni and cheese side and a drink. The rib was amazing but very rich - I've had it for 4 meals now :laughing7:

Oh - my bill (even after the free stuff) was still $44something  I guess life gets good when you make the Top 50 :chef:

You're missing out on some great stuff. I've stood in line at Snow's, Truth BBQ in Brenham, and several other places from that list and I've yet to be disappointed in a place that had a line. :) I plan to hit Franklin in a couple of weeks.

I had Stillwater (Abilene) today, and the brisket was the best I have ever had. I only eat off the point, so can't speak for the flat. Both types of ribs were good, but the seasoned green beans almost stole the show.
