See the Difference?

Postby rms827 » Sun Sep 09, 2018 12:18 am

We were up in Reno yesterday and today. Of course, we had to stop by the Famous Dave's there. This time I grabbed some pics to I could show y'all the difference between a competition level Dave's and that crap emporium in SF Bay Area (ask me what I really think, LOL).

I got the full rack rib plate as always:

Honestly, all the sides were just A LITTLE lacking. I think Dave's is using pre-packaged stuff nowadays. It still was pretty good but not quite up to former par. Here's a better view of the ribs (which were spot on):

She got the grilled chicken plate as usual:

Grabbed some pics of their competition trailer and pit also:

All their cook secrets written on the pit, lol

It's really a shame that so much of the chain seems to have gone downhill. The one in Chattanooga was great, and this one is a major competitor in the Reno BBQ cook offs. It's one of, if not the biggest BBQ championships in the West Coast area. Dave's is usually good for a win, place or show in at least one category and is guaranteed to make it to the finals.

Oh, and for those who are curious, the pit is 2 box stick burner trailer with a propane starter set-up. :D
